The lighting of the painting helps show more significance to Jesus who is at the dead center of the painting. The light that glows around him helps point how he is the center and main idea of the painting. As you get further away from Jesus, the lighting gets darker and it helps show how less important the other characters are in the painting. According to Pat Knepley(2013), in the article “Art History and Criticism: Learning About Da Vinci ”, Pat states that “Da Vinci pioneered the use of one-point perspective to provide a strong focal point with his sacred subject matter.”(para.13) This shows that Da Vinci was one of the few artists who was able to capture the best perspectives in his paintings of this time period. Also, the white skin on everyone shows us that they are very pure and wealthy. The color white when it comes to skin helps point out the innocence and wealth of the individuals in the painting. He shows us the beauty that can be captured in the paintings he can create and also shows the world that a powerful message can be shown through a painting that can develop into a story. He also shows us the beauty of realism in his paintings and he helps capture the natural attractiveness of the world and the things in it. The Last Supper is one of his most famous paintings because of the biblical reference it shows. Leonardo Da Vinci is by far, a master of
