Liberal arts can be defined as areas of study intended to give general knowledge; or those classes required to graduate high school. They should remain a necessity in all public school systems because they teach children proper problem solving techniques, insure that students’ maturity levels stay where they need to be throughout various stages of life, and help children to acquire more successful career choices due to the amount of and areas in which knowledge is gained.

This is possible because the knowledge gained from liberal arts classes are put to play in the work area. Proper language skills are needed in order to communicate more effectively, which is taught through every course taken through liberal arts. And proper problem solving skills are needed when given tasks at work, or in case something goes wrong because a boss cannot always be called to clean up a mess. Liberal arts courses also teach aspects of teamwork. When in the real world, teamwork is a major necessity in order to get anything accomplished. The liberal arts courses provide at least 13 years of experience not only working as part of a team, but distributing work and meeting deadlines. Lastly, punctuality is the single, biggest factor in getting a job. The courses require that assignments be turned it at specific times, that a certain amount of days not be missed, and that tardiness is not an issue. Each of these must be applied to the job world in order to keep the position, so luckily tons of experience is given prior to having to acquire a
