Human being undergoes several development stages in course of their life and the following are the theories that explain lifespan development.

Stage development theories explain the several stages that a person undergoes and each stage is different from one another. They divide a person development into distinct stages (Crisp and Turner, 2007). Piaget stage development theory stages that a person undergoes several stages and they include: Infancy-this is between birth and 3 years where the child cognitive system is limited to motor reflex. Early childhood, where the child learns how to walk and talk, Adolescence here the child is able to think logically and critically and understand issues and finally the adult stage. Behaviourist use intervening variables to explain behaviour or persons and ignores the mental status. In the different life development stages for example in infancy a child does not understand anything and is cognitive system makes reflex move and when the child is developing in the earl child hood he is able to understand when hungry and cries when he needs food in the adolescence stage and early adulthood the child understand things well and he is able to think and reason logically. An adult person is able to understand what he needs and his behaviors changes and is controlled by his thoughts.
