Link Crew & Leadership As I entered into my senior year of high school I was given the opportunity to be a mentor to freshman through a club known as Link Crew. My motivation to join Link Crew sprang from the fact that I found the start of high school to be challenging, whereas there were no upperclassmen to guide us. As a current member of the link crew, I can confidently say that I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with freshmen. This opportunity has shaped me into the person I am today. For now, let's take a trip back to my 9th grade year. My 9th grade year was an absolute mess since it was still COVID 19. The 1st day was our orientation and they gave us a quick tour, but we had no idea where we were going. I had little to no friends and I could have used a group like the Link Crew to get to know upperclassmen better so they could help me navigate the school easier. Being part of the link crew has helped me realize how much I enjoy interacting with all different types of people and how social I am. No matter where you work, you are guaranteed to meet new people and develop interpersonal skills. Link crew develops your confidence since you may step out of your comfort zone or if you are a more shy person you will begin to talk more. Link Crew is an opportunity I am proud to be part of and the skills it has taught me I will carry for a lifetime. Link Crew has helped me become a better student and overall person. After high school, I still hope that I can find a way to mentor other people I meet and be able to share experiences with them to help them
