My name is Kate and I am in 7th grade and Lincoln Middle School. Recently in school, we read the book Long Walk to Water. It follows the story of a boy named Salva who was forced out of his village due to war. During this time, he was moved to multiple refugee camps. Unfortunately, the story is true. There was a boy named Salva that had to go through this. We are doing a fundraiser to help people in Sudan get access to clean water in their villages without having to walk for hours at a time or water. Dotting the money could help a whole village be more secure in their water quality. The 7th-grade class of Lincoln Middle School is asking you to donate money for all the families and children of Sudan villages to be safer and more secure in their health. …show more content…
Imagine being 12 years old and not knowing how to read because you never got a chance to learn. Kids in South Sudan don't have to imagine this because it is their reality. They don’t have time to go to school because they are always going to far, far away wells just to get water for their family. They have no chance to play or even learn simple math. Another reason to donate is so they can drink potable water instead of disgusting, germ-infested water. Almost all of the people in South Sudan drink unpotable water that contains worms and diseases. So many people die every day from drinking this water, they have very little amount of medicine to treat it. Even if they did, they would have to walk twice as long to get treated than they had to get the
