Memorial Day is a day for visiting cemeteries and memorials to mourn the military personnel who died in the line of duty. Memorial Day honors America’s military men and women who lost their lives in service to their country. The holiday is observed on the last Monday of May, a time of year when the weather is turning warmer and schools and universities are adjourning for summer break. I personally do not celebrate this holiday due to my religious beliefs. Although this day expresses appreciation for fellow humans and even prays for them, I do not participate in this event for I consider the flag to be an idol - an object of worship. I also try to avoid implying that I trust humans rather than God to solve the world's problems. I do not advocate
