I have battled mental illnesses of my own and have experienced through physical activity a boost in how I generally feel. See, the study of Physical activity on Mental health has been a topic widely discussed over many years, for at least 2000 years (Layman, 1960,1974; Chung & Baird, 1999). It has been tested numerous times through different replications as I have found throughout my research. The objective is to find out if Exercising; whether it be daily or occasionally can lead to better physical health and overall well-being, and its effect on Mental Health? For example, can too much exercise be bad for your brain? Can exercise raise levels of stress instead of lowering them? What about the Athletes? Does the constant pressure of having to be in shape affect them greater than most regular individuals? Ultimately, what truly is the effect of exercise/physical activity on mental health? Throughout this study I hope to find results that could later be used to promote awareness throughout society, schools, workplaces, etc. It has been noted that physical inactivity is the fourth leading cause for global mortality, contributing to more than 6% of deaths worldwide (WHO, 2009; Dishman et al., 2013; Bhochhibhoya et al., 2014). If the results come out more positive, then this means well for the people as this would hopefully encourage people from around the globe to get up and get exercising, especially the younger generation, who these days tend to be more focused on Electronics, Social Media and Digital Media than being physically active. If results prove to be negative, then this could maybe encourage individuals who are dedicated to consistently working out, to take it easy and relax more or even those who continue to not work out to continue not do it. Overall, I think that a healthier way of living could be reached or encouraged through this
