In 1953, the Secretary of the Army made the wearing of US Army official on uniforms, because of discussions for the end of hatred with the North Koreans. While most soldiers in Vietnam wore the standard olive drab uniform, some unit like long range survey patrol members were given the Army's Engineer Research and Development Lab-made camouflage pattern, also called the ERDL pattern, although some used a tiger stripe pattern that local south Vietnamese forces had been wearing. A soldier that is wearing the tiger stripe uniform is in the foreground, while the soldier in the background is wearing the ERDL. Though this war resolved problems from World War I and show the end of the Great Depression, it also led to the Cold war. At the end of the war, millions of aliens were homeless, the European care had collapsed, and most of the European industrial support was destroyed. It was such a global changing event, that in theory every country could agree that we could have restarted the calendar at year 1 in 1946. The aftermath of World War 2 was the beginning of an era defined by the decline of the old great powers and the rise of two superpowers: The Soviet Union and the United States of America. Allies during World War 2, the USA and the USSR became competitors on the world stage and engaged in the Cold War, so called because it never resulted in open, declared hot war between the two powers but was instead characterized by espionage, political subversion and proxy wars. to avoid another war between Germany and France by economic cooperation and integration, and a common market for important natural resources the end of the war also increased the rate of declined from the great powers
