There are different strategies which has been put in place to help them to work together and cooperate to be able to provide the best care possible to the services user. One of the strategies put in place is multi-agency working. This involves two sets of processes which has been introduced to encourage multi-agency working and these are support planning process and single assessment process and these both are set around person-centred approach. This joint working encourages cooperation, sharing of information and less duplication which all help to reduce the risk of harm. Multi-agency working also encourages the use of a multi-disciplinary approach and this is where professions from different areas of health and social work all come together with their expertise to be able to provide a holistic approach for the service user. This helps to ensure that the individual gets the best, individualised care for them. However, this needs good communication and understanding to work and so there needs to be a lead person which understands everyone’s roles in order for the individuals needs to be met. Even though this is recommended, this has not always happened, and many people has died as a result of these processes falling apart. The no secrets guidance was introduced to try and improve the use of these processes and help agencies to work together effectively. This helps to reduce the risk of harm as if agencies are working together effectively then more information can be past on, allowing the appropriate action to be taken and this helps to stop abuse form happening and stop people dying due to miscommunication of services.
