McCrae and Costa in (Funder & Ozer, 2010) recognize personality as subjective and state people do not have direct intuition of their own traits and make assumptions based on their self-concept. They further conclude that development of traits does not continue throughout the lifetime and becomes stable by age 30. The theory presented by Roberts and Mrozack (2010) is more reflective of my personal experience. I developed these skills managing people and being flexible enough to understand that everyone has a style that works for them. The second half of that is that I took responsibility for the performance of my team and took the time to make sure they had what they needed to get the work done. I was not good at this when I was younger I was tyrannical with employees and because I was young it came off like a child throwing a tantrum.
One of the things I found most striking about my assessment is in the TAT the picture was two women who were scientist working in the lab and I wrote that they were collaborators. When I was younger I would have written the story from the perspective of the women observing the other with the microscope as her superior. This change is a result of my life experience and this is why I believe traits are cngeable at
