I should be accepted into the National Honor Society because I am dependable, flexible, helpful, creative, and responsible. Throughout my life, I have always been dependable. The things that I am very dependable can vary from doing my role in the group project, to even doing extra time in clubs when others cannot. In the executive board, I am currently on the activities board with another student. It is required that one of us to attend a sports meeting every month. The other member in the board was not able to make it to the meetings on multiple occasions. She could depend on me to be able to make the meetings that she could not. In the past, I played soccer. It took a lot of commitment and time to be able to keep good grades as well as being able to attend all my practices and games. By being flexible, I am open to new ideas and challenges that are presented to me. Another important characteristic that I have is being helpful. This year during calculus class, I was extremely helpful to my classmates. During this class, many students were struggling. I took initiative to help students help them understand. Being helpful is one of the most important characteristics because it reveals people's true personality by putting others first before themselves. Something that I find very unique about myself is that I am very creative. When given the opportunity, I go beyond what is necessary. This happened in my freshman year when we were required to do a project of maple syrup. With the project I was given, I created a small, realistic piece of wood out of styrofoam and I painted over it to make it look realistic. The tree had a tap and it was completely functional in an water cycle that would pour out water from the tap in the bucket and the water from the bucket would be moved to the
