I want to be apart of the National Junior Honor Society because NJHS will help me be the best person I can become. It will not only open closed doors, but It will also help my community thrive.

“I'd rather see the United States as a beacon of good work and good citizenship, rather than as #1 on some international educational measurement.” -Howard E. Gardner I Personally think that Howard E. Gardner states it eloquently. Education is very important for contributing to your community.Knowledge is useless without cooperation and unity. Not breaking the law is expected as a good citizen, but that is the bare minimum. To me, being a great citizen is going out of the way to help your country and that is what I am going to do for the rest of my life.

As former President John Q. Adams stated, leadership isn't something you should gain from, but it’s about contributing to society. Due to the world being so massive, you must start small to make change. This means starting within your own family. My younger sister Zoe for example, looks up to me as a role model and a mentor. I try to make an impact on her by influencing her to do better and make the world a better place. It starts with one individual and that’s what leadership means to me.
