Something people overlook far too much is the simple yet effective act of kindness. Kindness means when someone goes out of their way to be amiable or to show a person someone as apprehension towards them. Franklin Delano Roosevelt stated, “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.” Roosevelt established the New Deal Act in the mid-1930’s and he displayed his kindness by creating the act altogether, which affected the economy during the Great Depression and millions of people who resided in the United States because of the new work opportunities. He settled the act during his primary induction upon 100,000 people in Washington, D.C.; he demonstrated this act because he believed the state the United States was in was so atrocious, so there needed to be one great act to help lead America out of its immense economic downturn, furthermore it eventually did. This act affects both the person who dropped the item and the person who is helping to gather the item because the person who dropped the item is thankful for the help and the gatherer feels exceptional about themselves for helping. The aforementioned act can be done anywhere, such as school, work, at home, or even in a restaurant and can be shown at any time, even during in the middle of the night! This is congenial because normally people would walk past the person who dropped their commodities, however helping them makes the individual feel as if there is someone always there to help them.
