As camp when on he started to question his faith. For instants, Elie says “ Why, but why would I bless him?... Because he caused thousands of children to burn in his mass grave” (Page 67). This shows how much he questioned if there was a God or not. It made him think about all the years he worshiped God, and rather or not it was worth it. He also started thinking that God wasn’t on his side. As noted on page 65 Elie says “ For God sake, where are you God” (Page 65). He started to think that God wasn't on his side because of the horrible position he was put in. He also stop worshiping him too. He began to not care as much for his father. In the beginning of the book he was always with his father.He stayed by his side no matter what. Toward the end of the book after his father dies Elie says “ I did not weep, and it pained me that I could not weep. But I was out of tears” (Page 112). All of his emotions were drained out of him. He had nothing else to cry for he had no tear left to cry. He started to realize that him having so much emotion for people wasn’t really worth wasting his time on. After the experience nothing that happen could have been worse. Also Elie Says “ I no longer thought of my father, or my mother” (Page 113). This shows that at the end his only goal was to live. He didn't care about others. He didn’t have anymore feelings for the ones who he cared about the most in the beginning. He had nothing left. There were no emotions in him. In “Night” by Elie Wiesel the main character loses his faith, he became more immune to death, and he lost emotions for what was going on. Elie did change tremendously because the way he was in the beginning of the book his thoughts and emotion were completely different from his thoughts and emotions from the end of the book.
