1) Here and Now
The initial focus of a curriculum coordinator is to perform a Needs Analysis on all courses and present curricula. Are we AERO? Are we Common Core? Are we a mixture of both? What do teachers believe? Is the faculty following whatever curriculum we think we should be following? Do we have the proper courses? Do we need more? Do we not need superfluous courses? Are all faculty on board to where we are? What is Bin High’s position? Where are they? Can we adequately merge both philosophies, visions, and goals for a unified curriculum?
2) The Route
The development of a curriculum must be done with the mission, vision, and learner outcomes of the school in mind. Do our courses fulfill our goals? Does our curriculum do what we want it to do? A further analysis and recommendations of courses and standards of implementation will be conducted throughout the year to maintain curricular efficacy and ensures changing needs requires a flexible and adaptable curriculum.
