I plan to maintain my hardware and software by doing weekly updates to the system. I will also be conducting backups. There are different types of backups that ranges from full, incremental, differential, mirror, local, offsite, online, cloud, and FTP backup. I will use the FTP and Cloud backup. The FTP backup offers protection from all natural disasters and it is easy to connect to the internet to update the server. The cloud backup is good for protection against all natural disasters, you can backup the cloud through the internet, and “data is replicated across several storage devices and usually serviced by multiple internet connections so the system is not at the mercy of a single point of failure (Cloud Backup).” I will use the full backup method to backup the system. Conducting a full backup “restores are fast and easy to manage as the entire list of files and folders are in one backup set and they are easy to maintain and restore different versions (full backup).” After the full backups are conducted I will do the incremental backup. The incremental backup backups all changes made since the last full backup. I will setup the backup to run everyday Monday – Friday starting at 9pm. The full backup will be schedule on Monday then Tuesday – Friday the system will only backup the changes made to the system. …show more content…
