Weekly Insights: The ideas from this week that stood out the most to me are the different learning styles, the different teaching methods, and organizational lecture cues. Before learning the material from this week, I knew that people all had different learning styles, but getting to learn what these styles are actually called and what they involve was something that I found really interesting since they allowed me to get a better understanding of what my own learning style is. Learning about the different teaching methods, however, was also something that stood out to me since I have frequently come across so many different teaching methods throughout my whole educational experience, but I never really knew what those …show more content…
What is the difference between a'smart' and a'smart'? Practical Application: • I would revolutionize education to include more effective listening by changing the training that educators receive, by implementing mandatory check ins with all students at the end of the school week, and by having students fill out weekly surveys of how well they think that their educators listen to them. I think that changing the training that educators receive would be the first step to really achieving effective listening in educational settings, just because I feel like this would get the newer generations of educators to become accustomed to using effective listening practices within their classrooms. In addition to this though, I also think that changing the training of educators would be helpful to get the more experienced educators to see how valuable listening can be for their classrooms. Aside from this, I would also implement mandatory check ins with all students at the end of the school week because this is something that my teachers did when I was in high school, and it always made me feel like my teachers were always there to listen to me. So, I think that this is something that all schools can benefit
