Leaders are often role models who possess motivation, passion, and perseverance (Rastogi et al., 2022). Leaders are often autonomous in their work, guiding others in various ways. One way a leader guides those around them is by motivating them. Motivation enables leaders to establish innovative ways to lead others. Leaders are also typically very passionate individuals regarding their team and the goals they are working to accomplish. Their passion is often contagious, inspiring those around them to work harder to yield the desired result. Most importantly, leaders exhibit perseverance. This characteristic is essential to leadership, as challenges are often present. Leaders must learn to use their negative experiences as lessons, incorporating them into their decision-making. While these characteristics may be the most common, they are not the only traits needed to be an effective leader. Knowledge, communication, and accountability are also essential attributes. Unsurprisingly, some leaders only embody some of the previously mentioned qualities, which can make a difference in leadership effectiveness.
