Osama Bin Laden Dead.
On a bright September day, our nation was shaken and forever changed by the terrorist attack that occurred on 9/11. Over 3,000 men, women and children lost their lives in the worst attack on America in history. No one will ever forget the images of people dying, buildings collapsing, airplanes crashing and the cries of loved ones and the nation as we all watched grieving for the loss of life. Killing innocent people in this way was evil. Al Qaeda and its leader Osama Bin Laden were responsible and needed to be brought to justice. It took nearly 10 years to find Bin Laden and kill him. On May 1, 2011, Barack Obama gave a speech to announce the death of Osama Bin Laden.
The Speaker, President Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States. Obama is the son of a black man from Kenya and a white woman from Kansas. He is the first African American President in American History. On November 6, 2012, he was re elected for a second term.
The speech to the nation that announced the death of Bin Laden took place on May 1st 2011, late at night in the East Room of the White House. Americans needed to know that there was some level of justice and that even though terrorism will continue the evil mastermind of the attack was dead.
Since 9/11, our nation has taken many precautions to stop an attack like this from ever happening again. The military and counterterrorism professional have worked very hard to protect American. They have tightened up airport security, intercepted intelligence and disrupted terrorist plans to attack again.
