He knew that he was the only one that was going to make it back home so he didn't tell his men so they would keep on going. He also saved his men twice. The first time he saved his men was when the men wanted to kill the cyclops and he stopped them because if the cyclops died they wouldn't be able to move the huge boulder that cover the entrance. The next time he saved them was when he made a plan of escape. They blinded the cyclops first so he couldn’t see. Then he strapped his men onto the bellies of the sheep so that the cyclops couldn’t feel the men as they escaped. They were able to ride the sheep out of the cave and took them to the
