Circe was known for turning a strayed men, who were lured in by her singing, to animals. A few of Odysseus' men had been turned into animals and the only way for Odysseus to turn them back was for him to take Circe to bed. What was only a once requirement Odysseus' own desires and temptations let him linger there for many seasons. Time slipped away without Odysseus realizing the damage that had been done. While his wife Penelope remained faithful by holding off the suitors, Odysseus became weak due to the bliss he endured. Odysseus was physically strong but lacked the mental strength to be able to leave.
In conclusion, Odysseus was overall a weak leader and contributed to the destruction of his crew because of his unwise decisions that resulted in many deaths and was weakened by his own temptation. Odysseus barely escaped the cyclops and continued to taunt him which almost cost his life, ship, and crew. Odysseus was tempted by Circe and he was unfaithful for many seasons and he lost control of the situation. Odysseus was given more credit than he deserved and was selfish enough to take that credit and praise, which was not just
