One policy is all it takes to change the future of the country, for the better or for the worse. An example would be the one-child policy, a policy that was active from the 1980s to 2015 that regulates the Han Chinese people to have only one child, wasn't a good idea because it didn't help regulate the population, puts a massive burden on the younger generation, and it only benefits niche and specific people.

The one-child policy isn't good because it didn't lower population size. The graph in Document A shows that the population size would have started to decrease in 2030, but the policy was repealed in 2015, so it didn't help with decreasing the population (Document A). Some might say that it helped decrease the fertility rates, but countries such as Brazil, who doesn't have any policies that regulate fertility rates, saw their rates cut in half (decreased by 3 children per woman), while China only decreased it by one child per woman, and there is a similar trend in other countries too (Document B).
