“Each year, 34,000 people commit suicide, about twice as many deaths as caused by homicide -- about one death per 15 minutes.” says Huffington Posts. Suicide is a huge deal. 34,000 people commit, over 1,000,000 think they want to. Many people in the world can relate to suicide. It could've happened to them, their friend, their siblings, or even their parents. These days, many people don’t think before they speak, so they say to kids “Go and kill yourself.” or “Just die, no one likes you.” Not everyone takes this as a ‘joke’, some kids go as far as listening to them. Threats can be all over the place, school gossip, websites created by enemies, texts to you. Taken from a recent survey, 7 out of 10 people know someone who committed suicide. 4 of them said that they were very close. Those 4 all know the reason why they did it, …show more content…
They are going through very tough times and just need someone there for them. Here are some simple things to try to help them:
Reassure that they have a reason for living
Let them know you are there for them
Give them the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number: 1(800)273-8255
Spend lots of time with them to make sure they don’t try anything make sure that you aren’t too annoying (arrogant) about it

Depression takes over 20-25% teens bodies, and makes them feel very unwanted. Only about 80% of people with suicidal thoughts get help to overcome this feeling. We need to bring this percent all the way up to 100%, but more importantly, bring 105 down to under 50. Suicide is 4x more common in boys than girls. Girls show more indications of depression, over guys, who try to hide it. Don’t think a guy is just ‘sad’ talk to him and make sure he is ok. But don’t forget about the girls,
