Pablo Picasso is my favorite artist, born October 25 1881 in Malaga, Spain. Picasso was the greatest painter of the twentieth century. His real name was Paul Diego Jose Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Maria de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio clito Ruiz y Picasso. His name gives it away when it comes to the type of person he was because he had so many personalities. Picasso did not like school, which only he love to draw. He has this quote I like : "When I was a child, my mother said to me, 'If you become a soldier, you'll be a general. If you become a monk you'll end up as the pope,” he later recalled. I think this is the cool part because of the different stages he goes through and the way he picks his surroundings to base it off of. The blue period began when his friend died. Paintings of Picasso's most famous blue period is Blue Nude, La Vie, and The Old Guitarist. In 1905 Picasso overcame depression and fell in love with a beautiful model. Began to use warm colors, beige, pink, and red known as the rose period. These colors gives you the idea of women anyways with the colors listed. His most famous paintings of the pink period Gertrude Stein; two naked women and family of Saltimbanques was a success. Im pretty sure the ladies loved this period of painting too. In 1907 I think Picasso cubism changed the direction of the art in the 20th century. He made sure in his paintings that you felt the same feeling as he did while creating it.
