Dear coaches of Beechwood.

Good afternoon. “Everybody gets a participation trophy when equality of outcome replaces equality of opportunity.” Many people debate and share the pros and cons of participation trophies. I, for one, have pros to share about why participation trophies are good and their value. Everyone who tries their best should get one. I believe participation trophies do have value because people have a sense of accomplishment, it has other values, and it boosts self-esteem. They feel accomplished when gaining a trophy, knowing they tried their best. They don't know they're trying their best, if they aren’t rewarded. According to Special or Harmful, “It makes the kid feel good about being on a team, competing and having fun.

According to Gem Awards, “giving out a participation trophy shows the value of participating in team activities and rewards good behaviors like team building, communication, trust, and physical activity.” My evidence supports my claim because most people think that they can get less motivation but if they can handle it well they learn more than winning, they learn life lessons. They feel appreciated and gain good behavior. Participation Trophies also help boost a kid's self-esteem. According to Leagueapps “Admit it, it feels good when the spin instructor calls your name and says you’re doing a great job in the microphone. Even if you’re not doing a great job, the encouragement keeps you coming back—the participation trophy has the potential to have the same effect on kids.” It supports my claim because you feel appreciated and they have self-esteem and become confident in themselves and their abilities. Getting a participation trophy can make them feel challenged and confident, they might even work harder and likely won’t spend their time on a screen all day. In all honesty, everyone needs at least one participation trophy since it makes them feel like they accomplished something, shares values with those with one, and helps raise self-esteem if they take the trophy as an accomplishment and an
