Perception of Prejudice
(A discussion of why prejudice shouldn’t happen) People face prejudice everyday from all sorts of different sources. Stereotypical people judge others based on things they were told a possibly misinformed. Prejudice is immature and people shouldn’t have to put up with it. The stereotype of Wyoming and women are good examples of why people shouldn’t be prejudice along with simple reasons why it is wrong. Living in Wyoming, we get questioned about all the living stereotypes that people give to Wyoming. Men stereotype women all the time and it is a giant part of why being prejudice isn’t a humane thing to do. Being a specific gender doesn’t make you more or less than anyone else. Women are set apart from men and are said to not be able to do things that men can. Gender specific jobs often play out in like this, women do housework and men have jobs to support the family. Women are sometimes seen as not intelligent or physically capable to hold a steady, well paying job. Now days, this doesn’t happen as often and women are doing more, but the old stereotypes still live. Another thing not seen as “feminine” is hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Women in Wyoming can vouch that they have equal if not better, hunting abilities. Prejudice in general doesn’t make sense, but men being prejudice towards women isn’t right
