All in all, diversity is a broad, complex concept that implies inclusion in the workplace. As the world continues to shift to a more global market, companies must make diversity a business necessity. When employees feel valued and included in an organization they are more engaged and committed to contribute to the long-term success of their organization. In order to foster a more diverse organizational culture, companies must encourage progressive communication where a set framework of training strategies is implemented to strengthen an organization rather than hinder effectiveness. As previously discussed, companies must begin their journey to a more diverse organization by capturing diverse talent and having support from top management to retain those talents. When diversity is properly managed, creativity of ideas and innovation are increased which improves employee morale and ultimately increases productivity in the work-place. Managing diversity is much more than tolerating differences, but rather a focus on re-specting, appreciating and realizing the unique characteristics of each employee in the workplace.
