Career goals are important as they bring future into clear focus. They give something to change, work toward, and something to improve, and its great way to organize career path. My career goal is to grow professionally. Learning is never one time process for nurses, as technology and medical knowledge is constantly changing. Thus it’s important to stay update to provide best care to patients, and cultivate best talent.
My second goal is career advancement. This education will help me to advance further beyond floor care nurse, and be more confident in my field of practice. It will help me to function with flexibility, and independence. The education will open doors to management as my chances to advancement will increase. It will advance my step on clinical ladder.
These goals can only be met through my RN – BSN program as it helps to build stronger foundation. The classes will provide greater depth of knowledge, and more

Thus cultural differences do affect patient assessment, teaching and patient outcomes. The best way I view my patient as an individual rather than stereotyping. One of my patients was from Asia and the patient was recovering from abdominal surgery and was refusing pain medications because of his cultural and religious beliefs. The patient was unable to get out of bed, withdrawn from his family members, refusal to eat, and anger toward healthcare staff. It did reflect the patient is in pain but he was refusing his pain medication. By directly working with his family was able to promote open dialogue and was able to convince him to take his pain medication. Pain not only causes physical discomfort but can also affect thoughts and emotions as far as the person may think. It does increase the risk of depression. It can have adverse effect on our immune
