My mother coming from Mexico and my father coming from the island of Puerto Rico. My mother struggled to make it to America with a work visa soon after 10 years she soon applied for her citizenship it did take another 15 years for her to finally get her citizenship because her English wasn’t so well and my father worked hard manual labor for years but he did so because he knew he had to do it he didn’t want to educate himself even though the free education so you just work through it and worked backbreaking jobs to finally get the American dream of getting a bank loan to buy his own home after such a long time. My parents stress to my siblings and I to work hard and to get a education so we wouldn’t have to struggle like they did back then. To this day it’s proven fact that if you work hard you do it cheap greatness my brother striving for his Bachelors finally got accepted into the police academy and it’s been a police officer for the last 10 years my sister jump from different job the job and finally got her education to become a teacher. Even though these jobs are not think breaking they are secure jobs that they have establish for themselves on myself and still in school trying to find my FIT in life I’m using the education system in helping me to find my goal. My parents struggle hard through the years of finding jobs and saving up all to make sure that their children wouldn’t have to suffer and they make sure that we grew up in a good neighborhood with good values to become a better citizen. So the American dream is still alive in many people’s hearts it may be hard to obtain but if you push through you can definitely succeed and live a happy
