Animal research can be traced all the way back into the mid 1900s. Before any human ever attempted to step foot in space, scientists sent animals as sort of “test dummies” to space in order to observe the effects that space had on living organisms. Wide arrays of animals have been used for space research.NASA launched mice, monkeys, fruit flies, and various more species into space. Other animals flown in space include chimpanzees, guinea pigs, frogs, rats, cats, tortoises, fish, newts, shrimp, sea urchins, several types of insects, and more. Tests have also been conducted on various types of eggs also.(Space Explorers) While these animals explored the spacial environment, these scientists could monitor their vital sign signs and reactions to microgravity and also radiation. In 1961, the successful spaceflight of Ham, a chimpanzee led NASA to understand about motion sickness and more in order to make improvements. These successions of animal flights and years of reassurance to these successes influenced an unforgettable moment in history for America- the first man on the moon on July
