Mental health is pushed under the rug, with parents and teachers saying, “You don’t have any reason to be stressed,” or “It’s all in your head.” When there are students who would rather be dead than go to school, it is truly a problem. Students are honest; they are not as lazy and unmotivated as parents and teachers may want to believe. Some of the most hard-working individuals are students, working hard in school to make a better life for themselves in the future. Good education would ensure that, no matter what the student is good at. Good education would focus on what the student is interested in and what the student is skilled in. Good education looks like students who are eager to go to school, not students who are dreading it because of the stress they are under. Good education sounds like students who are truly engaged in their studies and it does not sound like students saying over and over, “I hate school.” One way to ensure this is to pay attention to the students.
