A wise physical therapist once told me,
“A lot of people underestimate physical therapists. But what those people do not know is that without physical therapists, many people struggle to regain full usage of their extremities after an accident or surgery? Some people think that the surgeons are the main reason people get well. Often times, it is the physical therapists that help people get back into their normal lifestyles.”
Physical therapy is a very important occupation. They work to rehabilitate their patients after getting injured or after undergoing surgery. I wanted to figure out what college would be the best choice to attend to pursue that degree and I wanted to find out what their tuition would end up costing. The first place I looked

Physical therapists plan and prepare programs of physical treatment to rehabilitate any physical discomfort a patient possesses. They perform physical exams of the patient, and they retain the patients’ improvements. They have to be able to lift up to fifty pounds, be able to stand up for long periods of time, and be able to use their hands to control, hold, and feel objects. They diagnose different types of pains, and they gradually help them improve their movement. In the book, Physical Therapy: Theory, Practices, and Benefits, the author, James P. Bennett explains about how long stating pain syndromes are one of the most tremendous threats to health nowadays, and the best way to help with any type of chronic pain is to go to physical therapy. Similar occupations to physical therapy are kinesiotherapy, orthopedic physical therapists, cardiopulmonary physical therapists, athletic trainers, and exercise physiologists. In kinesiotherapy, the therapist creates exercises to increase physical abilities affected by illness or disease. Orthopedic physical therapists diagnose their patients with any sort of sports injury or joint pains such as arthritis. In Mississippi, there is approximately fifty-five physical therapy job openings annually. In the United States, there are an expected total of about 12,800 job openings annually. Nationally, the employment outlook is increasing every year. For 2014 to 2024, is projected to increase as well. The annual growth in Mississippi is approximately twenty-eight percent. Even though there are very few job openings annually, I believe I can beat the odds and be successful as a physical therapist
