In the article “The Pit Bull Debate” Lorraine Murray states “....There is no reason that pit bulls, in the right hands of responsible owners who train and treat their dogs lovingly, respectfully, and intelligently, should be singled out by misguided breed-specific legislation.” Dogs who have loving and caring owners should not have discrimination against being a pit bull. Pit bulls are like any dog, and any dog can be trained. Finally, any aggressive dog can be trained. Some people say pit bulls are uncontrollable dogs. Although some people say this, the quality of care a dog receives can immensely affect their personality, In the article “The Dangerous Dog Debate” R. Scott Nolen states “Environment, the owner, and the quality of maternal care a dog receives as a puppy also greatly impacts the dogs personality.”(Pg. 5) Pit bulls can be great family pets and are trainable. They make good family pets because they have the right qualities to be a great family pet. When pit bull owners are loving and caring, they will be better trained and have better behavior. All pit bulls are discriminated against just for being a pit
