My Research Project was to focused on how political ideology contrasts across various age groups. The question I selected was ‘How does political ideology vary across age groups?’ I sent out two identical surveys, one for adults and one for young people. The survey asked ten simple and easy questions about current political issues. My second research process was an interview with a former Liberal Senator about the importance of young people in politics and which issues they view differently than their older counterparts. I chose the literacy capability as it suited my question comfortably and entailed communicating with people, asking questions and taking opinions into account. I was unquestionably passionate about how different demographics and social classes of people espoused contrasting political opinions. My primary approach to the project was to gather as much information as possible but I wasn’t until I critically and thoughtfully analysed a specific matter of was I confidently able to embark on the research. I solved this problem as my chosen research processes greatly assisted me in this, as they encouraged me to be detailed and precise when I carried out my investigation.
I felt the need however, to vary the research processes I used so I decided to conduct two short, anonymous political quantitative surveys which asked my peers to determine their stances on various political issues and then carried out the exact same questionnaire for adults. This research process was very quick and easy to produce which helped as a non-time-consuming alternative to other research processes that could’ve been chosen.
