In an infants life both the parents being mother and father can be distinct primary and secondary caregivers. The primary caregiver is the person who provides an attachment to the infant by promoting self care , and spending time with the baby. For example feedings, diaper changing, and other factors that require constant attention to a baby would be the parent spending more time with the infant will provide the primary caregiver role.
