Gun control has been a controversial topic in the United States for quite some time now. Many believe that gun control takes away their 2nd amendment, which protects the right of citizens to keep and bear arms, and other people think that it should be enforced. Guns have been the cause of death for thousands of Americans each year, ranging from several different reasons to why. The most common one we see is mass shootings whether it's schools, gatherings, or for hatred. With gun laws in place, we can stop these tragedies from happening and save lives.

A kid's only worry should be being a kid and not having to worry about the effects gun violence might have on them “What they fail to point out is that the rate of firearm deaths among children under 15 years of age, incredibly, is still 12 times higher in the United States than in 25 other industrialized nations combined” (Gergen). This points out that several others don't have this problem, but they also don't have guns or they're heavily restricted and harder to get than in America. Its also a problem in schools. There have been 346 school shootings in the last year, the people doing the shootings are often children who are getting bullied or have some type of mental issues that have limited resources to get help.
