Centuries ago, Guns were made to defeat and protect ourselves from danger against competition and to even hunt for food. They have been involved in many wars since the United States because a country as a whole. They were created to defeat the public enemy during wars and battles. Of course it is not ethical to murder humans in this day in age, back in the day that wasn’t the case. They just wanted a quicker way to defeat the enemies, so guns were created. As mammals, we are competitive and savage beings. We strive to survive, and survival of the fittest takes place. There has always been controversy about guns and if they should be banned from use. Many drugs are illegal and there are still loopholes around the law. People still make ways to distribute illegal drugs and smuggle them into the United States for under the table marketing. The drug cartel thrives off of drugs being illegal in the United States, imagine what kind of cartel would form if we decided to make the entire gun market illegal. Many innocent humans would also face jail time for trying to defend themselves with their illegal weapons. What about the guns that we already have in our homes? Would the government take measures to remove every owned firearm in America? Even though guns on college campuses are still illegal, many advances and laws are coming into place, making it possible for guns to start being allowed on campuses, considering the already in place laws of having to be 21 with a concealed handgun license. The only reason guns become a problem is because the gun is in the wrong hands of someone who isn’t right in their mind and/or it is not even their gun in the first place. Most of the guns used in crimes are obtained illegally or stolen from someone they know, like I stated earlier how most of the crimes involve individuals who do not have their concealed handgun license at all. They either buy the gun illegally or they steal it from their family members. Not to consider that banning guns in the United States would cost a lot of people their jobs and their money to support their families. The gun market makes billions of dollars a year on gun sales and accessories. In fact, 35,165 are employed in the firearm manufacturing industry, and the annual federal tax collected is $123,000,000. (Firearm Industry Statistics, 2014). Making guns illegal would dramatically decline the economy putting thousands out of jobs and the enormous amount of revenue they make per year for the uses not just for killing. Hunting is
