I have many beliefs. I believe that anyone who operates in the health care system should be held to a strict standard of professionalism. I believe those that don’t adhere to said strict standard should not be allowed to remain in the healthcare system. Doctors who do backdoor procedures, or prescribe excess amounts of opiates. Nurses who ignore patients and office personnel who pad insurance billing statements and invoices are just a few of the examples of healthcare employees that lack professionalism. Though as I said when it comes to my opinions, I truly don’t think they matter and that’s one of my major concerns. I’m in the opinion that when you are in any industry that employee feedback on professionalism, expectations, and job responsibilities are just as important as an employer’s expectations and policies regarding the employees. Continuing education for employees can show them what level of professionalism is expected in the healthcare system. Professionalism in the workplace often leads to leadership roles and increased chances of advancement, especially in healthcare. Setting out career plans and clear concise goals for yourself is going to start you on the right track. You can start as a CNA, continue your education, and become a nurse or a doctor. With continued professionalism you could demand more money for a position at the company you’ve been with. …show more content…
