Health and medical scholars have described vaccinations as one of the top ten achievements in public health in the twentieth century. Although this achievement has been mentioned, anti-vaccination movements have existed just as long as vaccinations have entered this world. In the article “History of Anti-vaccinations Movements” it covered all of the acquisitions of immunization controversies. On the other side of the street, parents have been pushing to have requirement for vaccinations in the article “Should Childhood Vaccination Against Measles Be Mandatory?”. This is only required for an entry into schools, although, across the states enforcement is varied. For example, places with lower rates of illness outbreaks can be exempt from this requirement. With that being said, I still think not only measle vaccinations should be required but all vaccinations should, in order to keep our children and citizens safe. This article stated cases that have happened in America with measles, and the reasoning why mandates should come into action immediately because of it. Statistics show that if the United States would have started this requirement sooner, it could have saved over six million of children's lives. The minor risks that may be linked with the vaccination far outweigh the chances of having a measles outbreak harvest. The history behind immunizations is the reason why the government enforces mandates today. These articles both state this very clearly; mortality rates will increase and that immunizations are beyond safe to intake. The history of anti-vaccinations clearly shows that no vaccinations are linked with any other diseases such as autism or deficiency disorders.
