Purpose Of Government

While having lunch with some of my fellow founding father’s this afternoon, a question came up that required me to think about things in a deeper way than before. I was asked, “What is the purpose of our new government?” I thought to myself, and then I replied saying that I would have to think about this and get back to him. In my thinking, I have come up with several purposes that I hope our government can always carry out. The first purpose of our new government is to protect the people. I believe that this is the most important purpose of all. One way the government will protect the people is by maintaining and funding a military. They will take care of any threat opposed by other countries or nations. Also, the government will protect the people by making reasonable decisions when obstacles come our country’s way. Public safety should always be dealt with seriously; when it comes to physical safety, monetary safety, or the safety of maintaining a person’s rights. The second purpose of our new government is to keep order in the nation. The government should stand as the main decision maker. The government is responsible for the nation’s finances, and they should be dealt with in a reasonable way. The nation should never be in debt. We should never spend more than we have on things that are not a necessity. If the nation does get into debt, the government should be working on ways to get the money back that we have lost. They should always be looking for ways to make the nation grow. Also, they should be helping the citizens of the nation prosper as well. I believe that the government should help citizens get back on their feet when they have lost their job or are in trouble. We should help them find jobs, so they can have a prosperous life and be able to provide for their
