There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages for the two civilization rivers that I chose. Some advantages for the Nile River is flows South to North, the river also has gifts, and they are fresh water, and then they have Predictable flooding, that is a very important advantage that they had, because them knowing that they Nile was going to flood let them have time to move all of their food and resources that they had traded or were going to so nothing would happen and they would not go bad/ spoiled, and they built dikes, reservoirs, and irrigation ditches to channel the rising river and store water for the dry season. Some advantages for the Indus River were they had planned cities, peaceful people, natural barriers kept most people protected, no weapons were ever found, non-essential goods were produced, everybody were about to get water whenever they needed it; for trading the river was allowing people to use boats to get across for trading; animals were able to access the river for some water; and had a great food source by the …show more content…
Some disadvantages of the Nile River are the river flooded, when the Nile would flood it would kill and destroy the plants and crops that were by the Nile. When the Nile river flooded it hurt the people that lived there because, when it destroyed the plants; people had to wait around or close to a year before they could get more plants grown and the people that lived there would have to go hungry.
