In Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry I think the theme is to treat others the way you want to be treated. (The golden rule.) The reason I think that that is the theme is because Cassie and her brothers are black; and the get treated differently than white people. The white people even sometimes hurt them! I doubt those white people who hurt them, (the Wallaces) would want to be hurt themselfs. Therefor, they should treat others the way they would like to be treated.
