Everybody makes sacrifices every single day, whether they know it or not. There are larger sacrifices that people may think about before acting on, too. In the play The Crucible, the author Arthur Miller implies that sacrifices may be necessary to restore some kind of order in society. Sacrifice is definitely necessary to restore a sense of order, in any situation. When there are two stubborn people, one must sacrifice their own desires or needs to reach a conclusion or middle ground with the other.
