In May, artwork in the styles of renowned artists like Salvador Dali and Claude Monet adorned parts of a local church. These pieces of art weren’t the originals, but artwork done by a group of 15 home-schooled children in the style of the famous artists. “My degree is in art history, so being able to share my love of artists as well as the art they create with children is truly a passion,” Cristalle Turner, the art teacher for the children, said. “It has been so fun to teach this group of kiddos for the past year and be a small part of inspiring their imaginations and sparking a love for a variety of art styles.” The student artists featured mostly children in grade school, though a few younger and older children participated.
