As time progresses on the poster, the audience can see the number of fatalities and injured victims grow; for decades the largest number of deaths were either one or two. However now, we see large scale shootings that are seen in Parkland, Sandy Hook and Virginia Tech that take the young lives of dozens of students. The development and availability of assault style weapons that are often used in mass acts of violence have contributed to the growing number of deaths during school shootings overtime. In the past, not as many students were seriously injured because of the time it took to load and shoot a gun. Now with the availability of these rifles, the numbers of fatalities rise. This is shown through the timeline and the number of students killed over time. By being able to visually see the progression of fatalities, the need for change becomes evident.
