Seahorses live among the many creatures of the ocean. There are lots of seahorses left so they aren’t exactly endangered yet. Their habitats are endangered though. Creatures such as coral reefs and seagrass beds are deteriorating, making it harder for seahorses to find a comfortable habitat. The seahorses that can’t find a habitat will die, cutting back the population.
The food seahorses eat are usually along the bottom area of the ocean. Such as, crustaceans, mysid shrimp, larval shrimp, and sometimes invertebrates. Crabs, stingrays, manta rays, tuna, penguins, and various breeds of fish prey on seahorses. Unfortunately for seahorses, they don’t have many options for ways of defense. They can’t physically defend themselves so they can only use sources like hiding in their underwater surroundings. Therefore, they get eaten very often and have no say in the matter.

Seahorses don't have scales but they have tight skin that stretches around ring shaped bones in their body. Seahorses do not swim like other creatures of the ocean. Instead of swimming horizontally, they swim in a vertical motion. The Razorfish is the only other sea creature that swims vertically like the seahorse. Seahorses don't swim very fast which is a good reason as to why they aren't very good at self defense. They can only go about 1.5 miles per hour, that's about 5 feet, at their best. Since seahorses can't swim very well, they use their curly tail to wrap around objects and hang there a while. Seahorses use their snouts to suck up food and interestingly, they're eyes can move independently of each other like a
