In my service learning experience, I was able to learn a few important aspects that I did not expect. I chose my placement at the “Mage’s Tavern.” I was familiar with the place and have done similar work in the past. My volunteer work included helping new players learn game rules, proper steps in a turn, and how to learn from losing. When starting as a new player in “Magic the Gathering” it takes an apt mind to learn the many necessary rules involved in the game. It can seem overwhelming to many new players and that is where I came in. I showed them how to play properly without getting confused by the many rules involved.
