Approximately 2.5 million people died from alcohol abuse each year. 2.5 million people who could have been our future Astronauts, Doctors, or Teachers. These deaths could have been prevented by making one simple choice. That simple choice is preventing yourself from drinking dangerously high quantities of alcohol. This is called mythomania or alcoholism. Regular people can fall victim to alcoholism, not just homeless or jobless people. First, let’s understand what alcoholism is. Alcoholism is the addiction to the consumption of alcoholic liquor. Alcohol can have different kinds of effects on the body, both physically and mentally. The effects of alcohol can either be short term effect or long term effects. Examples of the short-term effect of alcohol abuse are sleep disruption, anemia, and blackouts. Alcohol disrupts your sleeping routine.You may find yourself waking up a couple later, after having many drinks and not being able to go back to sleep. Drinking many amounts of alcohol can lead to the number of red blood cells in your body to be low which leads to anemia.
