If you have ever played an after school sport you know that it costs money. According to Amanda Ripley, thousands of teenagers move to the United States from all over the world and the students are surprised at how much schools spend on equipment (10). Ripley mentioned a high school girl named Jenny, who moved to the US from South Korea, she told us “when she lived in South Korea they only got to play pickup soccer on a dirt field during recess, and if they wanted to be on the paper it would be because of their hard work at school” (10). The data shows that sports should not be in schools and that kids will get better grades without those activities. According to Tim O’Shei, when playing a sport,” your brain releases hormones that will interfere with your sleep,” and with that it makes it harder to do homework and think (12). O’Shei also mentions that students do not concentrate after sports, “which just makes it tough to get their studying and homework done” (12).
