The final similarity is that they both had supporters at some point. In the poem it says that Casey was cheered for whenever he got up to bat, and David had the soldiers and the king cheering for him whenever he defeated the giant. Even though they had people cheering for them at different points they still had people cheering for them. This brings me to my first difference between Casey and David. The first difference is that they had people cheering for them at different points. In the poem Casey has people cheering for him as he gets up to bat. In the story David has people cheering for him after he defeats the giant. This shows that they both had people cheering for them at different times. The second difference is that Casey failed and David didn’t. Casey had people cheering for him in the begining of the poem. In the story Casey didn’t have people cheering for him until the very end when he did defeat the giant. This shows that only Casey failed because Casey had a lot of people cheering for him which boosted his ego and ended up in him being too cocky and striking out.
